The joy of a new briar

I really enjoy the spiciness a new briar adds to the tobacco when you fire up a new pipe.  It's been  while since I broke out a new briar, but after burning through the bottom of my favorite one, it was time.  I forgot how much "zest" a new briar adds to the tobacco.  I mainly use English blends, which are already "spicy".... but the new briar added to the same tobacco between the old one developing a hole and the new one using the same tobacco.

Anyone else notice this enhancement?
